Middle Vaitarna Dam
Vaitarna Dam, also called Modaksagar Dam, is a unique gravity dam on the Vaitarna River, which supplies water to Mumbai. It is a complete RCC dam.
This project was executed on a turnkey basis, providing supply, installation, and monitoring services.
Instruments used in the project included a piezometer, uplift pore pressure meter, water level recorder, concrete pressure cells, strain meters, thermocouple, plumb lines, triaxial joint meters, portable readout units, automatic data acquisition systems, weather station, and seismographs. Light-protecting units were used for the first time for this project.
