Middle Vaitarna Dam

Vaitarna Dam, also called Modaksagar Dam, is a unique gravity dam on Vaitarna river which supplies water to Mumbai. It is a complete RCC dam.

This project was executed on a turnkey basis providing supply, installation and monitoring services.

Instruments used in the project included a piezometer, uplift pore pressure meter, water level recorder, concrete pressure cells, strain meters, thermocouple, plumb lines, triaxial joint meters, portable readout units, automatic data acquisition systems, weather station and seismographs. Light protecting units were used for the first time for this project.
