KL Rao Sagar Pulichintala Irrigation Project: Comprehensive Geotechnical Monitoring by Encardio-Rite for the 1050m Long Dam and Spillway, Featuring Advanced Instruments Including Piezometers, Automatic Water Level Recorders, Concrete Pressure Cells, and Seismographs to Ensure Effective Water Management and Structural Integrity across the Krishna River

KL Rao Sagar Pulichintala Irrigation Project

This project consists of a 1050 m-long spillway with a 500 m-long earth bund on one side. It was constructed across the Krishna River between the Prakasam Barrage at Vijayawada and the Nagarjuna Sagar dam.

This dam is 30m high and 1050 m long. It supplies water to irrigate the existing Krishna delta under the Prakasham Barrage near Vijayawada.

Encardio-rite was awarded the contract for the supply and installation of geotechnical instrumentation for the dam and spillway and for automatic data logging of critical parameters and areas.

Instruments used included piezometers, an automatic water level recorder, a concrete pressure cell, a strain meter group, joint meters, a temperature meter, a plumb lines seepage measurement system, a rain gauge, seismographs, and an automatic data acquisition system for logging data from the above sensors.
