230 kV Underground Substation

The 230 kV Underground Substation in Labrador, Singapore, is Southeast Asia's first large-scale underground substation, sustainably supporting the region's energy needs. Encardio Rite, through its marketing associate, provided comprehensive geotechnical monitoring for the project, which included earth-retaining support systems and foundation rafts. Hundreds of geotechnical sensors, such as piezometers and arc weldable strain gauges, were deployed to ensure safety during construction. These sensors continue to operate successfully, contributing to safe, sustainable infrastructure for Singapore's urban renewal plan.

230 kV Underground Substation

The 230 kV Underground Substation in Labrador is Southeast Asia's first large-scale underground substation. The project includes constructing an earth-retaining support system (ERSS) and four foundation rafts (basement). The project aligns with Singapore's urban renewal plans and SP Group's goals of ensuring access to reliable, sustainable energy for all, and building sustainable infrastructure. The Labrador substation will serve the electricity needs of nearby Alexandra, Clementi, Keppel, Pasir Panjang, and the Science Park district.

Our marketing Associate in the region provided the safety monitoring work. The project used hundreds of our geotechnical sensors, including piezometers and arc weldable strain gages. All sensors (100%) are operating satisfactorily today.
