Ram (Akash) Ganga Project

The Ramganga Dam (Kalagarh Dam) on the Ramganga River in Uttarakhand supports a 198 MW hydropower station and irrigation for 57,500 hectares. The project features earth and rock-fill embankments with a large fill volume. Encardio Rite provided the supply and installation of safety monitoring instrumentation, including piezometers, inclinometers, pressure cells, GPS, and automatic weather stations, ensuring continuous data acquisition and dam safety.

Ram (Akash) Ganga Project

The Ramganga Dam, also known as the Kalagarh Dam, is located on the Ramganga River, 3 km (2 mi) upstream of Kalagarh in the Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand, India. It is located within the Jim Corbett National Park.

It is a multipurpose project built for irrigation and hydropower. It supports a 198 MW power station and provides water to irrigate 57,500 hectares (142,086 acres) of farmland. In addition, it provides for flood control and recreation.

The project consists of earth and rock-fill embankment dams 128 m (420 ft) long and 630 m (2,067 ft) long with a 10,000,000 m (13,079,506 cu yd) fill.

Encardio-rite was awarded the sub-contract for the supply as well as the installation of safety monitoring instrumentation for the project. The instrumentation included:
