New Cuzco – Chinchero International Airport

The Cuzco–Chinchero International Airport, located in Chinchero, Peru, is a key infrastructure project to boost the region's economy and tourism. With a projected capacity of 5.5 million passengers annually, the project required advanced geotechnical monitoring to manage ground deformations and groundwater variations during ground fill-up and soft soil improvement. Encardio Rite provided critical monitoring instruments, including inclinometers, vibrating wire piezometers, and magnetic extensometers, ensuring the stability and safety of the airport’s construction phase and long-term performance.

New Cuzco – Chinchero International Airport

Chinchero International Airport is an under-construction airport in Chinchero District, Cusco Region, Perú. The new airport's capacity is expected to reach 5.5 million passengers annually. It aims to become the main gateway to the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

Encardio Rite, with 56 years of expertise, was responsible for the project's monitoring works. Instruments were mainly required to control the area's ground deformations and groundwater variations during the early stages of ground fill-up and soft soil improvement works. Solutions offered included sub-surface monitoring instruments like Inclinometers for lateral movement, Piezometers for groundwater level and water pressures, and Magnetic Extensometers for ground settlement. We also provided technical support during the installation, leaving no stone unturned in making this project successful.
