Alaknanda Hydroelectric Project
The Alaknanda Hydroelectric Project is located on the Alaknanda River in Srinagar, Uttarakhand India. The run-of-river hydroelectric project is expected to reduce the northern grid's dependence on fossil fuels for electricity generation.
The project includes the construction of a 98-meter-long concrete gravity diversion dam, a headdress tunnel, six intake tunnels, a desilting basin, a powerhouse, a tailrace channel, and a switchyard. The total generation capacity of the project is 330 MW.
Encardio-rite was awarded the sub-contract for supply as well as installation of safety monitoring geotechnical and geodetic instrumentation for the project.
